MOSCOW, Feb 26 (PRIME) -- Major Russian mobile operator MTS and Chinese tech giant Xiaomi have agreed on partnership in retail and will open joint stores of gadgets and digital projects, an operator spokesperson said late Thursday.
“The first co-branded store will be opened in the city of Tula (in the western part of the country) this March, and several dozen Xiaomi stores are planned to be opened by the end of 2021,” the spokesperson said.
MTS will get a high-quality channel to attract new subscribers and users of the ecosystem.
At present, MTS has about 5,200 stores.
